XTension 2.0 DEMO
Home Automation and Security for your Mac
Copyright 1998 Sand Hill Engineering Inc.
============================================================
CAVEAT: This version is freeware.
It is fully functional with the venerable old CP290.
Note that although this is intended to be a DEMO,
it is fully functional with the CP290
with the following exception :
XTension WILL NOT DOWNLOAD to the CP290.
You MUST keep the Macintosh running
in order for XTension to function.
The only support for this version is via the XTension Discussion list.
There are hundreds of avid and experienced XTension users who
can offer great advice! see: http://www.shed.com/maillist.html
IF you have questions as to why you need to buy the commercial
version which works with 'two-way' X-10 interfaces, please check
out the website : www.shed.com
Installation :
Just move the XTension folder onto your hard disk.
This should create a folder on your disk called XTension...
You should be able to double click the XTension icon, and the DEMO will start up.
If you do not have some system resource that XTension requires,
it will tell you so on startup....watch the messages on startup.
AppleScript is occasionally not installed on your Mac,
so we have included it as a self-extracting archive which you
will find in the "Put these in Extensions Folder".
PLEASE take time to look at the manual which is included in this package.
You will be able to build systems with this version which you can directly
import into any commercial version of XTension.
If you are interested in purchasing the commercial version,
for any of the other X-10 interfaces, please contact:
